Foot Ball Camp, Placement Drive, SSB Interview, SUMMIT 09, New Codeless Mic & CEC Website

Hi all,

CEC is now at sleep… Exams all over, no one in the campus… Exams for the first years will start on 2nd June. A football camp has been scheduled to be conducted from 15th May, which shall extend upto 15 days. Camp shall be under the coaching of an eminent personality. Selected students shall attend the camp in the college premises itself.

A placement drive for 2009 batch by HCL was conducted on 13th May. Around 100 students participated in the drive, and it extended upto 6 in the eve. Results shall be declared later.

A vacation course in the aegis of IEEE will be conducted at ITI, Bangalore from 15th May to 30th May. Many students from our college are attending the same.

Call letters for SSB interview to the Indian Army have been reaching the students these days. Places of test are found to be Bangalore, Alahabad, Bhopal etc. It shall be during 28th May-9th June.

Works of SUMMIT 09 are back to the track. Arjun R Pillai and Sanoop Thomas met the principal today, for discussions on new dates of SUMMIT 09. Response from him was rather cold, as he’s not satisfied with the current ampere of works, and it’s too late to propose a date for SUMMIT 09, he says. Also, he has advised us to discuss the proceedings with the staff. The request for declaring SUMMIT 09 to be conducted from 19-21 August, 2009 has been submitted to the Principal, but he says there must be an academic council to gather for taking a deicsion in this regard. The next possible date for the meeting of AC is 3rd June, and by the way, we will have to wait till 3rd for officially fixing the date. The bitter part of the story is that we’re not able to send mails or proceed with any work with the dates not being confirmed. Also, a request for change in the Execom of SUMMIT 09 was also submitted, whose official notification shall come out shortly. The new execom is as follows:

A pair of new codeless mic has been bought from AHUJA, and heard that it will be used for Sports related purpose. It’s range is around 300 feets, but it’s found to work well beyond 100 m. It’s kept in the college auditorium. Last day, Mr. Joseph Peter (2009 EC) and Sarath S (2010 EC) had some work with the speaker system in the auditorium, and now its performance has changed by a great scale. Hats off to them.

CEC’s website was down for last few days. Anoop K Jayan (2007 CS), who’s maintaining the server said that it’s some problem with the domain name, which was found to be unlocatable; however, the issue has been resolved by today evening.

Best Regards,

Arunanand T A,

2010 CS
