The program is open to all students & faculty who are enrolled full-time or part-time at any accredited educational institution.

The IBM System z Mastery Test is a proficiency exam for entry level system programmer tasks that can be taken at over 5000 authorized Prometric sites around the world.

Why is the IBM System z Mastery test important?

– The test provides an avenue for students to prove their z/OS knowledge and expertise and distinguish themselves from other job candidates.

– Businesses all over the world are looking for students with z/OS mainframe knowledge.

– IT Industry Analysts consider the Mastery Test the standard for entering the mainframe job market.

Preparing for the test

Educators: This test is based on the Introduction to Mainframes: z/OS Basics course provided by the IBM Academic Initiative.

Students: If you are not able to take a formal System z mainframe course at your school, you can use our self-study resources to prepare on your own.
