1. What is CECians Global Meet 2011?

CECians Global Meet 2011 is a Meet of the entire family of College of Engineering Chengannur. In this meet we will have faculty, staff, current students, parents and alumni of our college.

2. What about the Date and Venue?

Date: 6th August, 2011

Time: 11 AM IST

Venue: College of Engineering Chengannur (CEC) campus.

3. I have heard of some ‘Magic’ or so. What about that?

Well, as a part of eve-entertainment, we have arranged a magic show by Magician Gopinath Muthukad which will be held from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM at Contour Backwaters, Changanassery.

The aim is at providing some fun in the eve, and also, if there’s surplus of income, the monetary will be used for College Development Activities. Entry is through Passes. Family Pass (Maximum of 4 members): Rs. 5000/- and Individual Pass: Rs. 2000/-

4. How about the transportation?

For those who wish to attend the Magic Show at Contour Backwaters, transportation may be arranged from CEC . Those who wish to travel on their own, may do so.

5. Can you tell me something in detail about the Meet and its intention?

The prime intention of the meet is to have a get-together of the current students, staff and alumni of CEC. The alumni will be given a chance to visit the campus, classrooms of their old CEC, and will enjoy some cultural events by the current students. They will also share their memories, get to know about what’s going on in CEC, and so on. Then we will have lunch at CEC itself. After the lunch, the get together will get into its real spirit.

6. So, taking a pass to Magic Event is not necessary to attend the Global Meet, right?

NOT AT ALL. Global Meet 2011 is open to all CECians. The Magic Show is for those who wish to be a part of.

7. What if I want to take a pass for the Magic Event?

9. I cannot come in person to the event. What if I wish to contribute to the Consolidated Fund of CEC Alumni?

Some CECians would be busy with their jobs or whatsoever, but we strongly request your blessings to the event. You are requested to keep contacts with CEC and CEC Alumni so that yourself and CEC can benefit out of it in terms of technical and managerial resources.

10. Heard that some faculty had come to our city. Is it true?

Yes, some of the faculty had visited Kochi, Trivandrum, Bangalore and Chennai. The intention was to reinforce the relation of CEC with CEC Alumni. This was purely a friendly visit. Many of you might have missed it because of some reasons or the faculty might have missed you; but please do never mind coming to CEC at any time, especially for the Meet.

Another intention was to from Alumni Chapters at these cities. The faculty, in the presence of available alumni, have spot out some people in charge of the Chapters. 12. Sorry, I am abroad/not available. What shall I do?

As we said earlier, we strongly request your blessings to the event. You are requested to keep contacts with CEC and CEC Alumni so that yourself and CEC can benefit out of it in terms of technical and managerial resources.

13. Is any accommodation available?

If you need any accommodation, we can arrange it for you. You may contact any of the organizers well in advance (Contacts of the organizers are given at the end of this FAQ article). The cost of accommodation shall be borne to you.

14. Can I take my non-CEC friends with me for the Magic Show?

Of course, you are encouraged to.

15. We need to go on boating at the backwaters of Alappey OR visit to some other nearby tourist spots. What to do?

16. Can I transfer some donation/take pass of the Magic Show online or via Cheques?

Yes, you can make donation to this event, or take Magic Show Passes by sending a Cheque in favour of “Global Meet 2011”. Or if you want to deposit cash offline/online, the A/C details are given below:

17. Will there be an external Audit Process for the Fund?

The external audit process will be definitely done by a qualified Chartered Accountant, and the proof of receipts and expenditure will be published within a few days of the event. The surplus amount will also be indicated and the plan of action with that money will also be framed then. Ajith Sen Sir (currently PTA Secretary – PTA is the core organizer of this event alongwith the Alumni and students of CEC) has assured to do that publicly (through Event Website-to be up shortly- and CEC Alumni Google Group)
