The College of Engineering Chengannur ( http://www.ceconline.edu ), known as CEC, was established in the year 1993, with a vision to create engineers having the drive, skill, and confidence to become the pioneers of tomorrow.
The college was set up under the auspices of the Institute of Human Resources and Development (IHRD) and is recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. It is affiliated to the Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) which is known internationally for its academic excellence.
The courses offered are designed to cater to the industry’s urgent demand for skilled professionals in the field of Computers, Electrical and Electronics. The college offers 4 year B.Tech. degree in –
- Computer Science &Engineering.
- Electronics and Communication Engineering.
- Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
- Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering
The AICTE National Board of Accreditation has given accreditation for the B.Tech programmes (Electronics and Communication, Computer Science and Engineering) for a period of three years. Apart from BTech programs, CEC has two MTech programmes – in Electronics Engineering (VLSI and Embedded Systems) and in Computer Science and Engineering (Image Processing).
Benefits of the NBA accrediation are AICTE preferential funding, top preference from companies conducting campus interviews, exemption from undergoing eligibility tests for higher studies in foreign countries that have a tieup with NBA.
The degree awarded by Cochin University of Science and Technology , is valued highly, as the syllabus is reviewed and updated regularly, taking into account the fast changing fields of computers and electronics.
The college is located at the heart of the city of Chengannur in Alappuzha district, Kerala . It is well connected by both bus and rail services.
The Cochin International Airport is just a three hour drive from Chengannur.
College of Engineering Chengannur is also one of the select colleges in India which was chosen to benefit under the Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme(TEQIP) scheme launched by The World Bank.
The Alumni of this college are placed in world-class multinational companies such as IBM, Wipro, TCS, Siemens etc. The achievements of the students of this insititution stand testimony to the earnestness of the faculty and the quality of education provided.
College of Engineering Chengannur, CEC, is located in Chengannur, a beautiful town in Kerala. Chengannur is situated at the extreme east part of Alappuzha district.
